The Recess are John & Rich - two Brighton based but cosmically placed DJs with a love of all kinds of music to make you dance and to help you pass out afterward! 100 Below is the sum of a Radio Show, a Blog and some parties thrown in for good measure, bringing you 'anything-goes-feel-good-dance-music'.

We've been working together since early 2006 playing groove based dance music: Classic Disco, House, Nu Disco, Funk, Soul, Friendly Tech and Electro, Boogie, Balearic and Breaks... On the radio show we also play oddities, rarities, ambient, electronica, downtempo, leftfield and anything weird and wonderful...

we don't care too much for beat matching, scratching or looking moody while tweaking the controls.... it's about the tunes and having a good time - there are no airs and graces and sometimes we accidentally play records at 45rpm instead of 33rpm and like it... shows follow no particular format - sometimes we talk, sometimes we don't, sometimes a guest mix, sometimes just us and sometimes a themed show (if you're lucky!) but ALWAYS good music...
