Paolo, a.k.a. Cosmic Metal Mother started his music career as founder and DJ of the seminal italian club "Devotion" in 1986. Importing along side with his crew the House sound to Rome and setting new standards for club goers by bringing a New York feel to Italian dance floors.
After establishing himself as a DJ, he shifted his interest into music production and decided to relocate to N.Y.C. where he lived and worked for twenty years as a DJ and producer experimenting with different sounds and collaborating with some of the most influential artists on the scene. In the process he released material for dance floor, soundtracks and played a weekly show on East Village Radio that captivated the ears of many record collectors.
In 2007 Paolo moved back to Europe where he started the Label Panacustica, based in Berlin, the city he currently calls home. The label quickly gained momentum and caught the attention of the underground as it delivers quality music, a unique sound and an impressive roster of guest remixers such as, Larry Heard, Prins Thomas, Dinky and Matthew Styles, Baby Ford, Sal P. and many more.
Paolo's current DJ sets and production style draw from the bare sounds of early House and Techno, the psychedelia of left-field Disco and Soul and the uncommon moods of Prog-Rock and the Kosmische sound, embodying an eclectic taste for the reinterpretation of the many musical shades he cultivated in years of searching and digging in dark and dusty basements for rare vinyl.
